For broadband (ADSL, presumably) seeking an extension cord that he said twisted pair.
Most extensions are four phones cheap flat with a ribbon, it is not very good for ADSL. The best are round, usually sheathed cable and have two pairs of twisted son of a sleeve or in bulk.
Once you passed the ADSL filter and phone wiring alone, makes no difference.
For better speed ADSL, cable, have some "filter" in the house as possible.
Ideally, a filter directly to the master of the establishment and implementation of all phones in the house to the telephone jack on the filter with the DSL box connected directly to the same filter.
